Daya Hruday Ashram, Panna, is a shelter of compassion and mercy for the helpless and dying destitute. Rooted in the spirit of love and service, it stands as a beacon of hope for those whom society has abandoned.
The Ashram had its humble beginning on 19 December 2023 through the vision and effort of Fr. Robin Abraham CMF, under the name St. Claret Anath Ashram, registered with the St. Claret Mercy Foundation. It was established as an extension of St. Claret Anath Ashram, Badlapur, Mumbai. Due to the challenges of managing the Ashram from Mumbai, Fr. Robin entrusted its care to the Satna Diocesan Society, ensuring that its mission of mercy would continue and grow.
On 19 July 2025, Fr. Baby U. V. was appointed as the Director and took charge of the Ashram. Subsequently, on 14 August 2025, the Ashram was formally registered under the Satna Diocesan Society with its new name, Daya Hruday Ashram, Panna. The dedicated service of Fr. Jaison George CMF continues to guide the daily life and functioning of the Ashram.
At the time of handing over, the Ashram sheltered 23 inmates, and today it cares for 24 inmates — 21 men and 3 women. Each one of them is welcomed as a child of God, never abandoned, never forgotten.
The foundation of Daya Hruday Ashram is the spirit of Divine Mercy, inspired by the words of Christ in Matthew 25:40: “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it for me.” Guided by this, the Ashram lives its motto, “Saving Lives to the Life,” striving to be a place where every abandoned person is embraced with dignity and care, and where no one dies alone.
Daya Hruday Ashram is truly a great gift given by the Satna Diocesan Society to Madhya Pradesh and to the Catholic Church as a whole on the occasion of the Great Jubilee Year of the Catholic Church. It is the home of hope for the unfortunate and less privileged, where they are made to feel loved, cared for, and sheltered, and where the mission is to restore dignity, bring peace, and proclaim through action that no one in this world is abandoned — all are the beloved children of God.
